Selling approx 187 SAEs - Unc., Slabbed, Cir., Sealed, Mix

2 Attachment(s)
UPDATE: SOLD

Am in the unfortunate position of needing to raise some more cash, so I'm selling approximately 187 SAEs. Pictured are the majority (most are uncirc); not pictured (will get them Monday) are about 15 uncirculated sealed ones.

Mix of years, I haven't picked through. I will provide much more detailed info, just ask. For now I just wanted to get these up and see what kind of interest/offers come about. I don't want to sell them at spot; but will accept reasonable offers. So PM me or post your best offer on some or all of the lot. Strongly prefer to sell the entire lot to the same person, even if we break it up into 2 or 3 transactions.

Not interested in a trade at this time; just payment by postal money order or cashier's check only. Feedback from previous silver swaps here.

I hope you are making a profit, and that this sell solves your problem.

I recently bought my partner out of two of our 3 business locations; so I am a bit short on funds right now. But yes, I am not into any of these SAEs for more than current spot.

Re: Selling approx 187 SAEs - Unc., Slabbed, Cir., Sealed, Mix

Had a couple of offers so far, want to reiterate a couple of things:

- not interested in selling at spot, I can do that locally for cash. Keep in mind that these are mixed years, and the premiums on some of this stuff, even at APMEX. I'm not trying to get the same premium they do, but would have to have some premium in order to justify not selling them locally at spot.

- not interested in PayPal due to fees, the 10% reserve they put me on, and my general hatred of anything eBay

Also, if you are interested in the whole lot, I don't mind breaking it up into 2 or 3 transactions if it makes you more comfortable.

Ya, know, I kinda wish I had a loose SAE to put in my pocket. Do you have a single Uncirculated one. I know you don't want to sell just one, so I'll buy a roll for spot (+ $1) if you will also sell me a loose one. That's 21 SAE at spot (+ $1 each). As I type that's $18.66 each.

I think that 187 represents the California police code number for a murder that occurred but I could be wrong on that because I do not live in California.

I really have to look into how this ignore option thingy works.

uncirculated huh?

who would circulate them?

Never understood why ASE's are slabbed n the first place.

Perhaps a low mintage, I can understand, but, they are not even numis!

GEM uncirculated means? Not a grade.

Skeptic, will send a PM.

By circulated, I mean it is tarnished, or has scratches, or otherwise isn't in pristine condition. Not sure if that is the correct term.

Hi guys,

I've had several offers. So far the best is $1.05 over spot with the money overnighted and no S/H charge. Waiting on a final confirmation on that offer for now.

Total: 80

Encased or Sealed & Uncirculated

- mixed dates - 94, 00, 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09

Total: 25

Encased, between Great to Uncirculated Condition:

Total: 18

Forgot to mention, there are 4 1996s. One is in pretty decent condition. APMEX is currently selling cleaned/culled/tarnished '96s for $25.

GoldBuyer,

A loose SAE? You look like the type to have a loose Krug in your shirt pocket. :111:

That's because you didn't read, or think, before you posted. No response was necessary.

That is actually a pretty good price IMO.

I am grinning ear to ear - because I DIDN'T pull the trigger on these.

Poor guy who bought them ended up paying $18.65 or so a round, the price today from APMEX as of 6PM Eastern October 28/2009 is ...$17.94 each at qty 100-499... brand new uncirculated.

Let's hope no one else did pull the trigger on this 'deal:' he might wind up buying a bunch of the world's only counterfeit SAEs.:rofl::rofl:

Re: Selling approx 187 SAEs - Unc., Slabbed, Cir., Sealed, Mix

I sold off over 500 ounces over the last 10 days or so (including some of yours ShortJohnSilver). Very glad I did. I needed to raise cash and the timing worked out well.

But I still don't think the guy who bought these got a bad deal, considering:
  • many of the older SAEs sell for much higher premiums than what you quoted
  • there were some '96s
  • there were some NGC and PCGS slabbed - those don't quite go cheap either. I think the slabs are pointless, but there is a market, so he can resell them for a nice profit

All in all, this is a risk we take every day. If no one ever had the balls to pull the trigger because they were afraid the price was going to drop right after they did it, no one would have any PMs. Sometimes you see a short term gain, sometimes you see a short term loss. But I don't think anyone here expects silver to never reach $20.

Not a bad deal considering the '96's and the roll of unc. 94's are a better date too. I collect unc. rolls of ASEs and need those. Snooze, lose.

Not to mention the fact that the transaction was private.

APMEX is awesome, but I'd be terrified to move a lot of stuff through them or any other online dealer because of the massive paper trail. What we are doing is not illegal, but I don't like the government knowing what I have, how much I paid for it, and what I sell back.
